Dunloggin Veterinary Hospital finds nothing more important than your pets’ health. We want your cats and dogs to be happy, healthy, and we love being a part of that. Whether you need to get your cat’s nails trims, or your dog needs a “fur cut,” we have a full list of services available for your pet.
However, if your pet is suffering from fleas, he probably isn’t feeling too great. A female flea can lay over 50 eggs in one session, even only after 24 hours from its mating session. That means it can lay 50 eggs, every single day. A typical flea can catapult himself 100 times his body’s length, leaving many possible victims for his next feast. Even though a flea can last 100 days without a blood meal, they can drink 15 times their body weight. That is sure to make any pet uncomfortable! Make sure your pet is protected against fleas!
The best way to check for fleas is with a flea comb. It’s a great investment for any pet owner to make sure your itchy and scratchy dog or cat isn’t being attacked by those blood-suckers. If you find that your pet has fleas, or simply are interested in finding more out about flea prevention and medicine, give us a call or visit our office.
