With the upcoming movie Grumpy Cat that is planned for winter 2014 release on Cable TV, it got us thinking if there were any other famous cats. Grumpy Cat became popular on social media because she perpetually had a grumpy looking face – although it appears she only looks grumpy and is actually a very great and loving cat (aren’t they all, though?) Anyways, here are some more cats that you may or may not know of that are well-known:

  • The Cheshire Cat (from “Alice in Wonderland)
  • The Cat in the Hat
  • Tom (from “Tom and Jerry”)
  • Snowbell (from the movie “Stuart Little”)
  • Mr. Bigglesworth (from the “Austin Powers” movies)
  • Snowball II (from “The Simpsons”)
  • Binx (in the movie “Hocus Pocus”)
  • Salem (from the TV series “Sabrina the Teenage Witch)
  • Lucifer (from “Cinderella”)
  • Garfield
  • Church (from the movie “Pet Sematary”)
  • Oliver (from the movie “Oliver”)
  • DC (from the TV show “That Darn Cat”)
  • Si & Am (from “Lady and the Tramp”)
  • Milo (from the movie “The Adventures of Milo and Otis”)

    • There are so many famous cats (whether they were made famous by television, movies or just through social media). It’s possible there are more than 100 (maybe over 1,000?) famous felines.
